Dr. Barber directs Terra Environmental’s Marine Center in St. Petersburg, FL. He has over 20 years of experience conducting applied research for the fishing and aquaculture industries on the east coast of the United States. He has served as Principal or Co-Principal Investigator on over $4.75 million in grant funding and has designed, built, and supervised the operation of research facilities for universities and industrial clients. He is internationally recognized in the fields of aquaculture science and invertebrate reproduction and pathology.
Prior to joining Terra Environmental Services, Inc., Dr. Barber was Professor of Marine Science at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, FL and at the University of Maine, in Orono, ME; Assistant Professor at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science (College of William and Mary), Gloucester, VA; and, Research Assistant Professor at Rutgers University (Shellfish Research Laboratory), Port Norris, NJ.
Previous environmental consulting experience includes employment as an Environmental Scientist for Florida Power Corporation (now Progress Energy), in St. Petersburg, FL and as Laboratory Manager for TraDet Laboratories, Inc., in Wheeling, WV.
